Mingimingi (Coprosma propinqua) is a divaricating shrub that typically grows 1–2m, but can reach up to 5m in height. It thrives in swampy areas and near streams, making it an excellent choice for riparian plantings. Found throughout New Zealand, from sea level up to 460m, it has small, oblong leaves and produces translucent blue berries, which are a valuable food source for birds. This hardy plant will grow in sun or semi-shade but requires plenty of moisture.

Growing Conditions:

• Tolerances: Shade, frost, wind, coastal environments, and free-draining soils.

• Endemic Distribution: North & South Islands of New Zealand.

Specifications:

• Height: Up to 5m.

• Flowering: Green flowers.

• Fruiting: January – April with translucent blue berries.

Ideal Uses:
