Arthropodium cirratum - Renga Renga, Rock Lily
Renga Renga (Arthropodium cirratum), also known as Reinga Lily or Rock Lily, is a hardy and adaptable perennial that thrives in a variety of conditions, especially coastal areas.
It forms large clumps with drooping, fleshy, strap-shaped leaves, and starry white flowers that bloom in airy panicles from early to mid-summer. The plant typically grows to about 1m in height and can regrow from its fleshy roots each spring, even in frost-prone areas. It is susceptible to slug and snail damage and sometimes attacked by a leaf-spot fungus in damp, shady situations.
Growing Conditions:
• Tolerances: Drought, wind, coastal conditions, free-draining soils, and salt.
• Endemic Distribution: Three Kings Islands, throughout the North Island, and the upper South Island (north of Greymouth and Kaikoura).
Specifications:
• Height: 1m
• Flowering: September – December, with white star-shaped flowers.

Ideal Uses:
