A fast-growing and attractive native New Zealand tussock, Toetoe features lush green foliage and striking cream plumes in summer and autumn. Ideal for native landscaping, regeneration projects, roadsides, and low shelter plantings, this hardy grass brings movement and texture to any setting.

Growing Conditions:

• Tolerances: Drought, salt, wetland, and wind resistant.

• Endemic Distribution: Primarily found in the South Island, with possible occurrences in the North Island (east of Cape Palliser). Also naturalised in Tasmania.

Specifications:

• Height: Up to 3m

• Flowering: September – November (cream-coloured flowers)

• Fruiting: October – March

Ideal Uses:

• Riparian plantings

• Pioneer plantings

• Shelter belts
