Coprosma linariifolia, also known as Mikimiki or Yellow Wood, is an erect, tall shrub or small tree native to New Zealand, found from the Manawatu / Hawkes Bay southwards.
It typically has a single trunk with smooth to rough fawn-grey bark, and the inner bark is a vibrant yellow to orange-yellow color, which is the origin of its common name. The fruit is yellow and often flecked with blue or blue-black, sometimes uniformly black, adding visual interest to the plant.
Growing Conditions:
• Tolerances: Sun, shade, wetland, and coastal environments.
• Endemic Distribution: North and South Islands, specifically from Hawkes Bay and Manawatu south.
