A hardy and rewarding native shrub that establishes readily and responds well to pruning, making it ideal for formal or informal hedging. Its attractive bark, colourful foliage, showy flowers, and bright berries provide year-round interest while supporting native wildlife. Like many members of the myrtle family, Rohutu is susceptible to myrtle rust (Austropuccinia psidii), so regular monitoring is recommended where the disease is present.
