A large, fast-growing native New Zealand sedge, Carex secta thrives in moist soils, making it an excellent choice for stream-side and wetland plantings. With its extensive root system, it provides effective erosion control while adding texture and movement to landscapes. Growing Conditions:

• Tolerances: Frost, sun, salt, wetland, wind, and coastal environments.

• Endemic Distribution: Widespread across North, South, and Stewart Islands, as well as the main Chatham Island (though scarce).

• Fruiting: October – March
