About:
'Anomalus' means differing from the normal, and this particular species is distinctly unlike others within its genus. It is classified as a divaricating shrub, which can grow impressively up to 3m in height when found in its natural habitat, typically throughout New Zealand in varied environments such as forest and scrub. The twiggy branches of this shrub are sparsely clothed with small, roundish leaves that feature slightly dentate edges, adding to its unique appearance. This plant is not only interesting due to its unusual traits but also possesses significant curiosity value. Lowland to montane forest margins and shrub-lands from near sea level to 900m.
