About:

This particular species is commonly found thriving on braided riverbeds that stretch from North Canterbury all the way down to Otago, specifically situated east of the main divide. It typically forms dense, hard, and bright green mat-like structures that resemble moss, which gradually transform into a rich and deep brown hue as winter sets in.

Natural habitat:

Montane to high elevations in stones and subalpine riverbed shingle.

Growing environment:

Frost, Sun, Wind & Free draining tolerant.

Endemic distribution:

New Zealand’s east coast of the South Island from North Canterbury to Otago

How to grow:

One of the easilier grown Raoulia species. Propagation is from fresh seed or division.
