About:
This is a spreading shrub commonly found from North Cape all the way to the northern head of Kaipara Harbour. The branchlets are delicately clothed in tiny rusty brown hairs, contrasting beautifully with the dark green leaves that stand out attractively. During the spring season, small cream flowers appear, adding a charming touch to the shrub. This plant makes an excellent ground cover option for well-drained situations, typically growing to approximately 50cm tall and spreading to about 1 m wide, although in more exposed sites, it tends to grow almost flat against the ground.
Natural habitat:
Open ground, often growing in impoverished soil – such as is found in scrub conditions or cliff habitats.
Growing environment:
Sun, Drought, Salt, Wind, Coastal & Free draining tolerant.
Endemic distribution:
New Zealand’s North Island only from Te Paki south to about Dargaville

How to grow:
Easy from fresh seed or cuttings. Does best in a sunny, open, or exposed site and prefers nutrient poor soils. An excellent ground cover plant.
** Seed germinates without pre treatment. Sow seed direct & keep moist until germination is complete.
