Plant facts:

This fern is quite common along riverbanks and in the lush lowland forests of the North Island, but it is more localised in the South Island. The fronds typically measure between 30 to 85cm in length and exhibit a bright green colour with a lacy appearance, reminiscent of P. glabella. It can be easily distinguished from other species by its creeping rhizome, which spreads just below the surface.
