About:

Olearia furfuracea is a small bushy shrub that is found naturally growing in coastal scrub and forest margins in the northern half of the North Island. This resilient shrub will typically reach a height of approximately 3m, making it a notable presence in its native habitat. The foliage of the tree is characterised by its leathery texture and dark green colour, with distinct toothed edges that add to its appeal. During the summer months, daisy-like flowers emerge, occurring in attractive clusters along brown fuzzy stalks, further enhancing the plant's ornamental qualities. As such, it makes a great choice as a coastal plant and is also suitable for creating a good, natural hedge.
