About:

An attractive North Island species commonly found in the landscapes of the Ruahine and Kaimanawa Ranges. This unique plant forms a low, dense clump of vibrant bluish-green leaves and, during the warm summer months, it produces delicate white flowers adorned with striking greenish-yellow throats.

Natural habitat:

Subalpine to alpine. A basicole confined to limestone bluffs and talus slopes

Frost, Sun, Shade, Wind & Free draining tolerant.

New Zealand’s North Island in the Kaimanawa and Ruahine Ranges

How to grow:

One of the few indigenous alpine Myosotis that is easily cultivated. Best grown in a sunny situation within a free-draining but moist soil enriched with lime. Excellent in a rockery or alpine house. This species flowers freely even in warm climates.

** Seed germinates without pre treatment. 4 weeks cold stratification will help speed this up though
