About:

An alpine species that closely resembles L. atrata, yet is distinctively characterised by the vibrant yellow rays that beautifully surround the dark central disc of the flowerhead. This striking contrast adds a unique visual appeal to the plant, making it a notable presence in its natural habitat.

Natural habitat:

Subalpine to alpine (> 1000 m a.s.l.) in open, mobile, sparsely vegetated screes.

Growing environment:

Frost, Sun & Free draining tolerant.

Endemic distribution:

New Zealand’s South Island, east of the main divide from Eastern Nelson and Marlborough south to Canterbury.

How to grow:
