About:
A low-growing rhizomatous plant characterised by its fine grass-like foliage that provides a delicate appearance. In the vibrant seasons of spring to early summer, it produces an array of attractive flowers that range in colour from white to pale blue, and even exhibit a mauvish hue, with each flower reaching up to 2.5 cm in width. This charming plant is predominantly found in bogs and damp sites throughout various regions of New Zealand, thriving in its preferred habitats. It is an excellent choice for a rock garden setting, where it can flourish in an open situation with moist, peaty soil that supports its growth and development.

Open peaty soils from sea level to 1300 m

Frost, Sun, Wetland & Coastal tolerant.
Endemic distribution:
Throughout New Zealand & the south eastern states of Australia.
