About:

A variable species, which can range significantly in form from a semi-prostrate shape to a more upright shrub reaching heights of up to 3 m in the wild, is found across extensive regions of both the North and South Islands of New Zealand. This adaptable plant displays light green leaves that are rounded to lance-shaped, featuring downy undersides that become apparent as they mature. During the spring season, it produces tiny flower-heads that emit a faint, pleasant scent. This makes it a suitable and resilient choice for dry, exposed sites throughout New Zealand. To ensure it maintains an attractive and healthy shape, regular pruning is recommended.

Open areas, especially in dry forest edges and scrub habitats

Sun, Shade, Drought, Wind & Free draining tolerant.

Endemic distribution:

Throughout New Zealands North & South Islands from Surville cliffs on the North Cape south to some lowland forests in the South Island.
