About:

G. microphyllum is a distinctive species of geranium that is endemic to the unique and remote subantarctic Auckland and Campbell Islands of New Zealand. This particular species bears some similarities to G. brevicaule, yet it is characterised by a looser and much more straggly growth habit, which results in considerably less appeal for garden enthusiasts who prefer more structured plants.

Natural habitat: 

A species of sub Antarctic herb-fields and turfs.


Growing environment:

Frost, Sun, Shade, Salt, Wind & Coastal tolerant.

Endemic distribution:

New Zealand’s subantarctic Auckland and Campbell Islands.

How to grow:

Easily grown from seed. Plants are short-lived but readily set seed.
