About:
Red Beech is a distinctive species of Fuscospora, uniquely endemic to New Zealand, and it can be found on both the North Island and the South Island of the country. This remarkable tree thrives particularly well on lower hills and inland valley floors where the soil is both fertile and well-drained, creating an ideal growing environment for it. The tree is classified as medium-sized and is known for bearing an abundance of small, sharply-toothed leaves, which also feature a small hairy pit at the junction of the veins. Interestingly, young trees showcase striking bright-red foliage during the winter months, creating a vivid visual display.
