About:

A low-growing plant that typically reaches a maximum height of just 15 cm, it features smaller, closely overlapping oblong leaves that are even more compact compared to those of F. tenella. This species is quite widespread in the wetter alpine regions of the South Island, thriving in these unique environments. It is particularly suitable for display in an alpine house or a carefully designed rock garden, as it requires a semi-shaded site with a moist, gritty soil composition to grow successfully.

Natural habitat:

Found in herb-fields and rocky places, in the wetter subalpine to alpine areas.
