A common plant found throughout the diverse landscapes of New Zealand, it thrives in a wide variety of habitats. The small, dark green leaves are distinctively kidney-shaped, and the plant forms a lush, low carpet that can cover ground effectively. As its common name suggests, it may often be considered a weed in certain contexts; however, it is sometimes embraced for use in lawns as a practical substitute for traditional grass. This resilient plant will grow well in both sun-drenched and shaded areas, is unfussy when it comes to soil type, and demonstrates a commendable tolerance for periods of dryness.

How to grow:
