About:
The species described is prevalent in New Zealand, thriving from the Coromandel Peninsula down to southern regions. It can be found at various elevations, ranging from sea level up to 1700m. Characterised by its narrow leaves, which can reach lengths of up to 25cm, the leaves display a greyish-green coloration with a mottled pattern. The flowering stems can grow up to 40cm and are typically adorned with a layer of white tomentum. This species is recognised for its resilience and adaptability, making it one of the easier plants to cultivate, particularly in well-draining soil and under full sun conditions.
Natural habitat:
Celmisia gracilenta is found in a variety of mountain habitats up to 1700m.
