About:

A large snow grass, known for its distinctive appearance, forms bold and prominent tussocks. The weeping green leaves of this grass species are notably larger than those found in most other tussock types, creating a striking visual effect. The open flowering panicles gracefully stem up to an impressive height of 1.5m sand blossom during the warm months from December through January, contributing to the vibrant landscape during that time.

Natural habitat:

Found on sub alpine cliffs and rocky outcrops to 975m.

Growing environment:

Frost, Sun, Drought, Wind & Free draining tolerant.

Endemic distribution:

New Zealand's North in localised areas of the east coast from Coromandel to Hawkes Bay.

** Seed germinates without pre treatment. 4 weeks cold stratification will help speed this up though
